TRY A REAL QUESTION

What would your
player choose?

Start with the ball, then look at the players and the space. This sample comes from Smart Soccer Positioning.

Sample field for this game situation: A has the ball on the right. YOU, B, and C are also on the right. The left side is empty. What is wrong?

ONE REAL QUESTION

A has the ball on the right. YOU, B, and C are also on the right. The left side is empty. What is wrong?

Your job in this play: Midfield. Open circles are our team; gray circles are the other team. The black dot is the ball.

  • AWe have crowded the right side and left the left side empty.
  • BWe have spread across both sides.
  • CWe have too many players on the left.
Explore the answer

A. We have crowded the right side and left the left side empty.

The same field with red movement or awareness marks from the parent guide
  1. Notice the unused left side.

Point to A and then follow the white teammates up the right side. The team has several players available in one narrow area, while the left side offers no passing option. Spreading across more of the field would give A different places to use. Moving every teammate toward A would keep the same crowd together. Ask your child, 'Which side has nobody from our team?' Let your child point to the clue on the field and explain the choice in their own words.

Every answer guide includes a correct choice, red movement or awareness marks, and a full plain-language explanation for you to discuss together.

Exact sample court with all ten players, the ball and basket directions

ONE REAL QUESTION

A has the ball. YOU and B are in the same passing lane. Look at the space on both sides. Where should YOU move to offer another pass?

Your job: Help our team while A has the ball. Open circles are our team; gray circles are the other team. The black dot is the ball. Letters name teammates; Choice X, Y or Z names your answer.

  • XMove right beside A to ask for the ball.
  • YMove closer to B in the middle.
  • ZMove out to the left side.
Explore the answer

Answer: Z. Move out to the left side.

The same court with red movement or awareness marks from the parent guide
  1. Move left to offer a different passing angle.

Trace the two receiving routes with your child. Moving left gives A a different angle for a pass. Moving closer to B keeps both receivers in the same route. Standing right beside A crowds the ball holder here; a short pass can be useful when there is room, but this move does not create a separate receiving angle. If you like, ask: Where could YOU stand so A sees two different passing routes?

Every question comes with a correct choice, red movement or awareness marks, and a full plain-language parent explanation.

A FEW HELPFUL DETAILS

Ready when you are.

Who are these quizzes for?

Beginner basketball players around ages 8–10, with adult reading help as needed. Try a few questions together, at your own pace. An adult can read aloud; your child can point, choose and chat. The pictures show five players per team.

Which game context do the pictures use?

These pictures show five players on each team, nine-foot baskets and each defender responsible for an opponent. Defenders wait behind halfway before applying pressure. They may intercept passes or collect loose balls, but leave a player’s controlled dribble or held ball alone. The included guide explains these selected beginner rules. If your league uses a different format, compare its rules before discussing a rule-dependent scene.

The court is an illustrative 84 by 50 feet. Actual gyms can differ. The questions focus on useful decisions rather than measured distances or scoring arcs.

Do I need to know basketball to help?

Start with the sample together. Read the short question aloud, ask your child to point to a clue, then use the parent guide’s answer and explanation. The printable guide explains the picture labels and gives you a discussion prompt.

How challenging are the questions?

A mix of quick wins and game choices gives you something to notice together. Try the sample for fit. Follow your child’s interest, talk about a clue if you like, and take a break whenever you want. Enjoy the untimed activity and celebrate each new discovery.

How do we use the PDFs?

Print a few player pages at actual size on US Letter, or fit to A4. Let your player circle an answer, then explore the separate parent guide. The full collection includes section bookmarks and actual-page print ranges.

How do the mini packs and full collection fit together?

The full collection contains the same 72 questions sold in the six 12-question basketball packs, plus 28 additional game decisions.

Can I share the pages with my team?

Yes. Print and share with your household, players and team. The pages carry a small Sports Quizzes watermark.

How does the seven-day refund offer work?

Reply to your Gumroad purchase receipt within seven days of purchase to request a refund. We offer a seven-day refund period. Applicable rights and platform protections still apply.

Read the diagonal

The serve is coming to your team. YOU will receive it. Follow its dotted path.

Which meeting spot should YOU move toward?

  1. AToward R.
  2. BToward M.
  3. CToward L.
Explore the volleyball parent answer

Choice C. Toward L.

Follow the dotted flight with your child. L is where this ball is arriving, so moving there puts YOU in its path. M follows the ball toward its earlier position; R takes YOU away from the flight. Keep watching as you move because a real serve can change direction. The picture gives a meeting place, not a reason to stop watching.

Sources you can follow.

USA Volleyball 2025–27 indoor rules and 2026 interpretations govern these scenes. General six-a-side coaching guidance also informs the original choices. Sports Quizzes independently applies those principles to original game pictures.

READY WHEN YOU ARE

A few useful details.

Who are the volleyball quizzes for?

Beginners around ages 8–10 with adult reading help. Standard indoor six-a-side on a full 9 m by 18 m court. The scenes use six regular court players. Read each scene’s height, contact count and role clues; local league variations can differ.

What comes with each volleyball purchase?

Three PDFs: player pages, a separate matching parent guide with red marks and full explanations, and a printing and official-source guide. A mini has 12 questions; the complete collection has 100.

How do the packs and collection fit together?

The six mini packs contain 72 distinct questions. The complete collection includes those exact 72 plus 28 bonus questions. Choose a focused topic or explore every theme.

How do we print and share?

Print US Letter at actual size or fit to A4. Grayscale works. Enjoy a few pages untimed with an adult, then reveal the separate parent guide. Print and share with your players and team.
